Lunch Actually is The Most Effective Dating Service in Singapore
Dating service went through such a game changing phase.
With the fast pace of life and people’s choice of wanting to filter the dates before they invest their time on many random websites and apps, more dating services are emerging in the market and they are bringing their A-Game to set themselves apart from competitors. It’s great to have options but too many can be a burden. Amongst the dating agencies that I researched, one really stood out in terms of reviews and success rates, so I dug in a little deeper and I was genuinely impressed with how serious people in Lunch Actually manage their clients.
Lunch Actually took a simple concept and brought it to the next level. This dating service has had over 3000 media feature. Although a lunch date sounds simple enough, this dating service takes their clients' interest very seriously. Not every Tom, Dick and Harry get paired up with every Sara, Alice and Rachel (can we make this a thing?) After registering, you would be given a consultation session where you get to share things about yourself and your expectations in finding a partner.
After the interview and answering questionnaires, you’d be surprised at how much you learnt about yourself. Now that it’s all black and white and in front of you, it's definitely easier to see what you actually want (and don't want) in your partner. One of the highlights of Lunch Actually is the commitment they give to you every step of the way and how they keep tabs post-dates to get your feedback.
Lunch Actually's founder, Violet Lim, found her passion as a modern-day matchmaker.
It wasn’t something that she aimed for since childhood; in fact Lim was acing it in law at University of Manchester in the UK and later on completed her Master’s degree in Industrial Relations and Personal Management at the London School of Economics. But the calling for her true passion was too loud to ignore so she left everything and poured her heart and soul and started Lunch Actually with her husband.
So basically there are 6 steps in this whole process:
1. Meet Up
This is the first step I mentioned earlier. This is the casual interview between you and your consultant where you talk about your expectations in a relationship, your past relationships, your ideal partner. You also have to answer open-ended questions to describe yourself. This helps them to get an idea of the type of person you are and what kind of partner would be most compatible with you. You can set your preferred time for the appointment, so that’s a plus.
2. ID Check Interview
Like I said before, not everyone gets a green light to be a part of the service because Lunch Actually will be representing you in finding a partner so they have to make sure you’re not a serial killer, a scam artist, or someone's not serious. Basically it's like the stalking and screening your best friend would do before you go for a blind date but the 3.0 version. It’s a very reassuring process because you know they take your safety very seriously and as far as you’re in their hands, your well-being is definitely a priority. You will not be stood-up, catfished, or ghosted!
3. Match Profiles
This is where the work is done without you having to do anything! Your consultant would send matches based on the criteria that you provided during the interview stage. They will share some basic information about your potential match, don’t feel pressured though! If you’re not feeling it you can always share your concern and they’ll be able to address them or move on to the next one. But what’s the fun in skipping when you’re all set out to find love. As they say love comes in mysterious ways, no?
4. Date Is Set
When it’s green light from both sides, your consultant would find a nice place for the both of you to meet and get to know each other. It's up to you: you can have the date over lunch, tea-time, or after-work drinks! Potentially the start of something beautiful! (insert heart-eye emoji!)
5. Go On That Date!
Well, do you really need explanation on that? Sparks fly!
6. Feedback
This is the part I find cute. So after the date, your consultant calls and gets feedback from you about the date. If you liked the date or if you have any feedback or how they can improve their service to provide you of a better experience. I think this sets apart the good dating service from the bad ones, especially when they still manage to keep tabs on you and are still committed to help you even after they have sent you on the date.
Dating services are budding like mushrooms these days and I’m sure there are plenty that caters to different types of platform you’re into but if you’re looking for something serious and substantial and you’re ready to move on from the Tinder fever, I would definitely recommend Lunch Actually.
I mean with 14 years in the business and 85% success rate, they must be doing something right!
